Current mood: aggravated

so today I had one of the most unruly customer ever. at the end of our interaction I was so infuriated! here's how it went:

woman: yeah I'd like to get a sugar-free, non-fat vanilla latte.

me: oh we don't use sugar-free vanilla here because it has chemicals and we use natural ingredients. we have a no-sugar-added vanilla. it still has sugar in it but not nearly as much as the normal vanilla.

woman: I always go to the coffee bean and they always give me sugar-free so like I said I want a SUGAR-FREE, non-fat vanilla latte

me: (being completely nice and trying to keep my cool) ok so we'll just do a no-sugar-added vanilla latte

woman: NON-FAT!

me: oh, all of our flavored lattes automatically come with non-fat milk.

woman: you're killing me! just give me what I asked for!

(I proceed to just ring her up and not say another word)

woman: (pulling one of those new sugar free gatorades out of her purse) you want a gatorade? its sugar-free.

me: no thanks, I don't like them much I think they're kind of gross.

woman: (eyeing me up and down) yeah you don't seem like the type who would have very good taste...or be very athletic.

I kept quiet, took her order, and then helped the woman behind her and then went to my manager saying this while the woman was probably 4 feet away "that woman with the nasty black and blond hair is a fucking bitch. when her drink is done give it to her and tell her she needs to get the fuck out! I'm so livid right now!"

i then went to cool off in the backroom. i maybe was a bit inappropriate by yelling while the woman was right there but my manager was totally ready to back me up and tell her to leave but the woman left of we own accord. fucking bitch.

I don't understand how people can be so douchy. and since when does liking Gatorade constitute good taste? oh well. I asked my manager when it's ok for me as the barista to tell rude people to leave. she said any time a person acts like an ass and I don't like it I'm totally allowed to refuse them service. so now I know for next time.

and also, done people have better things to do than be assholes about their coffee drinks? it's so frustrating when someone wants a latte at 137 degrees, a specific amount or room for cream of one and a half of a packet of splenda or something else ridiculous. get a hobby and stop bugging me!

oh it totally is. it makes me feel good when i get a really cool/nice customer. they always make up for it. i just dont understand why people get soooooo picky about coffee. we get some of the most ridiculous requests.
